Gas tank

Post by Rock » Sat Mar 14, 2009 12:00 pm

Hi all

I'm thinking of putting some machines away in the garage pretty soon. I was wondering if we keep gas in the tank or we empty it before putting it away. Last year I had put the 444 in my brothers garage on an empty tank and it was so humide in there that the tank was full of rust withing a month or so. So this year it's going in my garage. Any help would be appreciated

Take care

My machines stay in a dry environment in the basement of my shop but I fill the tanks to the top.

Or keep them in the living room? Just kidding! Full for the off seasons is good I agree. Run the motor and shut off gas and let carb starve of fuel. Fog cylinder with boat fogging oil. Drain tank before running next season and put in fresh two stroke mix. put old fuel in chain saw or bon fire!
