444 with Teflon sliders

Post by Barrie2777 » Sat Apr 19, 2014 9:16 pm

This is a 444 chassis I have. The oddest. Part about it are the sliders with the Teflon bottoms. There is no handlebar set with it so I can't say whether it is an early or late model. It is further proof that hus-ski was cleaning up left over parts for the 444's.

Interesting photo Barrie. Something I noticed peculiar about it too and this is assuming that it is all original paint, I noticed that the track sprockets, hubs and axles are all painted yellow. So if it is original paint, one might assume this is from a very early 444. I have noticed in a what appears to be a very early 444 brochure, the artist's rendition of a 444 had yellow sprockets although I have only ever seen it with black sprockets and axles on a 444 so your chassis could be an early 444 with leftover parts from a 400 or 200A. (but again, that is alot of assuming - which is never a good thing to do!)
Anyway, jsut an observation from your picture that I thought I would throw your way.
Cheers, Peter

I think it has been painted but yellow on yellow not on black. I am also taking inventory of all my machine serial numbers and have found a few odd numbers... at least not in the sequence I feel as correct for that particular model. ie a 200-A starting with 40, a 400 starting with 60.
