2012 Hus Ski / Diablo Workshop

Post by Go Go Diablo » Thu Jul 19, 2012 7:08 am

Hello all fellow Hus Ski and Diablo Enthusiasts,

It is hard to think about vintage snowmobiling during the heat of the summer, but winter will be here before you know it. So to get in the mood for winter, we will host another workshop this fall and all are welcome. Our focus this year will be more Hus Ski related than in the past. Topics will include:

- Hus Ski chassis repair, upgrades and fender replacements (Presented by Rod LeFevre)
- A Hus Ski 444 conversion to a Honda Motor (Presented by Frank Paris)
- A discussion of different Hus Ski Models with hopes that all the models will be represented.

Also, Steve Alberts will be bringing his Hus Ski 444 that recently took 1st place in the National Vintage Show and Jeff Tom will be bringing his restored Hus Ski 400.

I'm also sure that we can find some Diablo things to talk about too.

It would be great if many of you could bring your Hus Skis and Diablos and we can line them up to gawk at. In addition, if you have parts or sleds to sell, you are welcome to bring them along. All pre-arranged parts purchased from gogodiablo during this event will be 10% off. There will be Diablos and possibly Hus Skis for sale at this event.

The date will be Saturday, September 22nd and the event will start mid-morning with more details to come. This event will take place at the Diablo Shop in Sobieski, Wisconsin. There is limited space for some campers or camping at the shop. This event is not open to the public, so if you are thinking about coming, please let me know and I will follow-up with event details as they become complete.

Hope to hear back from many of you.

Best Regards,

Bruce

We are in the final weeks of preparation for the upcoming workshop. With 20 to 30 people coming, it's sure to be a good turnout.

If you thought about coming but have not responded to the invitations, there is still plenty of room. Shoot me an email at bruce@gogodiablo.com if you want to join the fun and I will send you further details of the event.

You are killing me man. Always something funny to say and I appreciate the sense of humor.

Well, here is a complete one. Just finished up this 503 tonight just in time for the workshop. She is a beauty!

Like many of my restorations, this Diablo was put together from parts. I grab chassis', hoods, handlebars and ski seaters from the shelf and restore the main body components. Then set them aside while I do the same with most of the other components. When it comes time to assemble, it is a fairly quick process. I started assembling this Diablo 10 days ago.

Thank you for the compliment Cory.

Hi all,

Many thanks to the 28 fellow enthusiasts that came to the Workshop this past Saturday. The weather was cool and crisp and the food / drink was plentiful. One thing is for sure, when you gather 28 people and talk Hus Skis and Diablos, there is a wealth of knowledge to share.

In addition to the topics covered, we also had plenty of sleds in all sorts of conditions to gaze at. There was some swapping and buying going on. Dave from Edgar, Wisconsin won the door prize.

A special thanks to Rod and Frank for leading several discussions and to Jim for snapping a bunch of pictures and also helping out. Another special thanks to my buddy Tom who did all the cooking.

It's been a little slow on the forum lately, so I thought that I would post some pictures from the workshop.
