Well armed with info and pics from the gang i went at it.Found a oh oh a chunk out of a one of the drive sprockets .Can they be repaired or am I looking for another? Well the ball joint area was welded by someone who should not have been allowed to weld so that area had to be cut out i could use some pics as how to repair in this area? And i will have to do a small repair to the pan i figure if i tig it it it will never be seen.

Here are some pics of how I made the bumper braces. These braces are not the same as original, where I have the straight piece of pipe, originally it was a light duty angle that had been bent on a brake. The factory didn't have any gussets either. Every Hus-ski that I have seen has been broken and rewelded in this area, that is why I beefed things up a little.

Well made the exhaust port for the muffler on the right side welded that in the got into a rust mess started to fill it in with weld but has turned into a not so nice deal.So i have spoke to Barrie and may just cut out the bottom of the right side and replace (unless one of you kind folk have just a right side 444 panel?)Some of the parts are off to be sand blasted and painted on Monday. Now armed with more info from Barrie and Frank I will get at it this weekend weld in the grill, grind some welds, fill holes in hood.I have new track belt on the way so will start to dismantle the old track as i now have all new wood and cleats from Barrie, will go shopping for rivets for the lace and cleats next week.well off i go time to get at it!

In your pictures, there are two rectangular tubes that point close to straight up.Did you replace these tubes? If you did, what size tube did you use? These tubes on my 444 are 3" x 1 1/4", I couldn't find this size, the closest that I could find was 3" x 1 1/2". Thanks

Hi Frank
No we did not replace them but they were broke at the tops and we also could not get that size, so my son took metal of the same gauge cut out the damage made it square and replaced with flat stock of the same gauge. He cleaned up some of the welds and made it look real good(so we think).

Not sure yet?I guess I will see when I am done.I ordered the original style rivets to build a OE style track your pics really showed how to lay it out.The engine pan should be done Friday and my son can weld it up this weekend then primed again and painted.I really hope all painted by end of next week??I will start the track next week as well. Thanks again for the CD it was great.

Well things have moved a little slower then i would like but still moving forward.I ended up cutting out the rusted out bottom edge of on of the side panel and bent a new piece to fit in it did not turn out to bad?Had to re do my gas tank straps and weld in.Then filled holes where someone drilled at the top near the gas tank.Removed the handles and i will take it to be blasted and painted Monday the handle bar assembly that is.I will now fit the fender and weld that tomorrow. I did forget to take measurements of the old unit Frank would you have any to help me insure all fits right the first time?Side to side were the bars mount to fender edge, front of fender to front of pan,and any info or tips were the chain come through as to fitting?Well here are the pics!
