Hus skis' are almost complete! Handle bars installed on frame, engine installed and adjusted for belt alignment, connected and adj engine controls, then installed engine hood and electrical system. (the following pictures may not be in sequence).

Because I have had some people ask me how a 444 is wired, I have hand drawn an electrical schematic of how "I" wire my 444s. There is one option I may add in - a two wire connector for the headlight wires. If you need to remove the hood a connector would make it much easier! A hood connector is NOT shown in the schematic. I have never had any problem or failures with the electrical system when wired this way.

In one of my early postings, I said I installed the engine and adjusted it for belt alignment. I came across this service bulletin sent out by Paul Mueller regarding the 444. Paragraph 5 & 6 refer to belt adjustment so I thought I would share this here.

Some time ago Barrie and I had a discussion about assembling tracks using rivets vs bolts to put them together. In the past I have always bolted them but this time I took his advice and made the investment in rivets and riveting tools and he is right- it is definitely the better way to assemble tracks!!
Also, I used the OEM style lacer clips - another good decision. I think it makes them look as original as possible. ( In the past I had used the Flexco alligator RS125 lacer clips.)

These two pictures are cutting cleats to size and the jig for drilling cleats. (Just a ton of work....)

Note - pictures might not be in order.

this series of pictures shows all the parts ready for assembly. So basically, two track kits ( lol) and new riveting tools.

These pictures - another picture of riveting the cleats on and also showing the original set of tracks beside my new set of tracks. The other photo is a detailed picture of the new OEM lacer clip

There we are - four brand new tracks ready for install !! This is the only way I will build tracks from now on.
Thanks to Barrie for convincing me to make the investment in the rivets and tools and Bruce for providing me with the new steel ice cleats.
That concludes track building for this year :D
