Re: Not enough snow
What I remember from that jump was that the approach was smooth, the "air" time was good but the landing shook every nut, bolt and rivet on my 444! Not to mention my spine and molars! That's just because you were jumping a Hus Ski. The Diablo has far superior suspension, at least an inch of travel,...

Re: 503 crankshaft size
Well, 30mm is the size, duh, all I had to do was read it off the seal. 72 x 30 x 10 is written right on the seal. finally got the speedi sleeve and new seal installed, after clearing the flooded crankcase, it fired right up. The bad part is there's no snow and 55 degrees out, so I can't ride. After ...

That would be right. Anytime you have any engine with excessive carbon build up, you lean out the mixture to burn hotter and remove it.

Re: Re-examining Fuel and Fuel Mix Ratios
I've always run my old 2 strokes at 20:1, that's 1 qt to 5 gal (20qt). I never had a problem below 40 deg F.

503 crankshaft size
Does anyone know the diameter of the crankshaft sealing surface of the Hirth 190R motor? I need to sleeve the flywheel side on mine and do not have anything that can measure it accurately. If I can get the diameter, I can get a Speedi-Sleeve to fit, then maybe it will start again.

Re: When is it a spark plug & when it is more serious????
I wonder if that's my problem, plenty of fuel, spark looks good, but, no start. Rest timing, changed many plugs, rebuilt carb, no start.
Now I'll be looking for a condenser.

Re: Ski Seater
Pete, that appears to me to be something made to tow behind another machine. That would explain the handle bar and traditional trailer hitch. It might even have been towed by an ATV.

Re: help.. gas out carb, not to cylinder
Well, I finally got a chance to pull the flywheel and check the crank seal. I must not have looked at the shaft when I put the seal in, it's rust pitted, right where the seal rides. I guess a motor, crank, or sleeve are in my future. At least I have all summer to solve this one. I pulled the flywhee...

Re: New guy from Ontario
I have actually chased a Hus ski across a field when the throttle return spring came off during chain realignment activities. My father chased the same machine thru a field of cow manure for the same reason, we permanently fixed the spring after that one.
