Re: 444 restoration question
Thanks fap67. II restored this to original condition. Here are some pictures of the under hood. I tried to use as many original parts as I could. Sheet metal is all original. Barrie supplied me with a new hood scoop screen and the front fender is the original. It was an incredible amount of hammer, ...

Re: 444 restoration question
My wife's 444 is now completed. She can't wait to try it out this winter on the snow. I like to thank Barrie and Bruce and a few others in helping me with this restoration. Without their help, it would have been very difficult to complete this project. I thought I would post photos of the before and...

Re: 444 restoration question
Thanks for the feedback guys. Sounds like you can go either way on this so since mine appears to be yellow originally and the hood is already painted yellow, I think i will just leave it like that. Less work to tape it off and paint it black!
Thanks

My original piece that came off the machine appears to be yellow and looks like the original paint however looking on the website here and many ot...

Re: HUS-SKI display
Big thanks to Barrie for taking time out of his busy schedule and giving Joan and I a personal guided tour of his hus ski display in progress and his other collection of hus skis around his place. We had a great time visiting with him and it was awesome to be back in the Laurentians again. Barrie is...

Re: 200A RATROD
Good question - paint or not to paint. I have heard both sides of this. Don't paint because like you said its like adding a layer of insulation holding heat in. The other side is to paint it black to prevent rusting and to create a smooth surface so it will have good air flow over the cooling fins. ...

Re: 200A RATROD
Overheating is an interesting problem. There are lots of variables that can cause overheating. Generally it can be caused by - incorrect amount of oil in your fuel mixture - lack of lubrication - missing or partially blocked cooling fins on the cylinder head and cylinder - missing cooling blades on ...
