Re: HL carb to engine spacer plate
Have you had any luck finding a carb. spacer plate? If not I could make you one. You can look at the ones I have made on the restoration site,(Yellow Fever). I have had some people asking for them. I was waiting for some feedback from a couple I sold. All sounds good. I will be setting up to make a ...

Gas tank assembly
I did something a little different with the gas tank. At Port Washington I saw quite a few machines that repairs were made on there straps for the gas tank. When I got my 444, the straps were also broken. This looks to be a problem as the strap material seems to be such a thin gauge metal. I didn't ...

Re: Reversed recoil
That would be great if you had an extra one. Would be nice to get the recoil on so I can finish the handlebars. Thanks Randy.

Re: Reversed recoil
I have the flat cover plate if that's is what you meant. I don't have the plate that goes under the dogs.( the recessed one) The dogs don't work very well or at all.
Here is a picture of how it was set up when I took it apart. The inner spring cap is riding directly on the rope drum.

Carb throttle shaft
Nearing the end of my 444 restoration. We were bench testing the JLO today, everthing running well when we noticed that the carb throttle shaft is broken off on linkage side. It is a Tillotson HL-186A. Ref. # in manual is #41, part#013543. We were operating it on the idle adjustment side. Any help w...

Re: Reversed recoil
I got my recoil changed around today, thanks to my brother for the extra help. It was quite a job , just like Barrie explained but we took our time and got it done. An extra set of hands makes a huge difference. We fixed that problem but discovered another, the recoil is missing a part. I am missing...
