Throttle shaft
Previous to installing the JLO, the motor was bench tested a couple of times. The last time we ran it we noticed that the throttle shaft was broken off were the keeper clip holds it into the carb.We were always operating from the idle adjustment side. I tried a couple of sources to find a replacemen...

Re: Recoil cable length
I found on E BAY a 65" and 74" cable (NOS),so I am going to get a new cable, prob. 65", take recoil completely apart and start over. Should have the new cable this weekend. I will let everyone know how I turned out. I was surprised to see how many JLO and recoil parts were on E BAY. Thanks Dan for t...

Re: Recoil cable length
Hi Barrie, do you think the 45" cable length is a little short. I measured from the motor to the end of the handle bars and that is slightly longer than 45". I wonder if I dont have 2 problems. 1 that the cable could be a little longer and 2 that I wonder if some how I got a preload on the recoil sp...

Re: Recoil cable length
Hi Dan, Thanks for the help. I will check that out. I got the cable out and looking at it closer it looks like that end is permanently bonded to that round tab, so I can't just use any cable.
I had it running today, had to use a pull rope, but it starts in 1 pull.

The problem is that there is only about 5" of stroke left on the recoil. I'm thinking this cable is to short unless I did something else wrong with ...

Track Supports
I decided to make a set of track supports for 2 reasons. They are completely functional and they will help with the track slap on the underside of fender, so the tracks hopefully won't beat up my new paint job so fast.

Frame assembly
Things are coming together nicely. The parts pile is getting smaller.
Here you can see the 3/8" rod I laid in the fender profile to reinforce the edge. I raised the fender 3/4" when installing it. There should be good clearance.
