Re: Spark... and then no spark?
What a coincidence, I just had the same problem with my 444. Approaching the end of my restoration, was getting the 252 ready to install on the machine when I noticed that the recoil was backwards. I know the motor was running so I figured it was reversed also. Today I pulled the flywheel to find ou...

Re: 400 restoration project
Beautiful job on this restoration. There is so much information here. Been learning about these recoils as mine is backwards. Also these JLOs with there L and R rotation. Looks like I have a job ahead of me. Your details on these machines are amazing.

The motor was rebuilt, bench tested and runs beautifully. With the recoil like this, running in the wro...

Re: Next 444 Project
Were do you get your wire looming material from. (The material you wrap the wires in) It is a very nice finishing touch.
Also saw your post on the rubber boot for the kill switch.
Thanks Randy

Building new tracks
I have seen different methods used for track assembly. I decided to use stainless 1/4 button head bolts and "t" nuts for the cleats and rivets for the lacing. I wasn't set up for doing alot of riveting so the bolts seemed to be a good alterative. Being my 1st set of tracks, I'm happy the way they tu...

Here are a few pics. of the old tracks and also the new. My belting supplier was able to pierce in the hole pattern for the cleats, th...
