Re: 200
Next I turned my attention to the skids removed them for inspection. The stainless steel covers were showing some cracking and wear and after removing the covers to inspect the wood they also shows signs of rot resulting in both parts needing to be replaced . I used both the stainless steel cover an...

Re: snowmobile "TRITON"
Barrie, you make some good points about the attaching point of the sleigh to the tractor . I also think the attaching point or Ball joint location on the tractor is critical to the steering geometry. Too far back will push the sleigh further back making it harder for the driver to reach the handle b...

Re: snowmobile "TRITON"
Hey Barrie I just want to clarify as to why I used 53 inches for calculating load carrying on ski. Bear in mind I am not an engineer! I think Igor is looking for ground pressure or mass carrying load of one ski. The 53 inches is the flat area of the ski which is 100% load supporting on the snow (reg...

Re: 200
For the seat, I traced a new piece of plywood from an original seat. Installed new T nuts for the bolts, painted the wood red and gave it a coat of varnish to seal it. Then I sent it to a professional upholstery shop along with an original seat so they could duplicate the stitching pattern. It turne...

Re: 200
It’s been a very busy summer and I haven’t had too much time to work on this hus-ski. I have made some progress. I did fit all the body parts together and everything fits nicely but that’s all I have completed on the body so far. I did not have time for media blasting and painting. I got the seat an...
