I just saw this post. I believe the cleat to be straight. If humped, it probably is from the ice cleat supporting a worn out wood cleat which caused them to bend. I just removed three sets. Some are straight, some are bent.

Travel in deep snow is affected greatly by the tracks ability to move snow. New machines today have tracks with paddles up to 3" high. The husski with a "u" channel cleat had a total paddle depth of 1" but it could be counted as 1-1/4" if we count the second edge of the "u" channel cleat.

One might be able to argue that in deep snow the whole ski including the curved tip is load carrying. It is on packed snow that the curved tip has no contact and therefore no load carrying responsibility. Small detail. Records show that it is possible that 1700 444's were sold in 1965 but this doesnt align with brochures of that year which only advertise the 200-A and 600 which was the "new for 1965" model.
